Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is homoeopathy?

Homoeopathy is a therapeutic system that deals with diseases according to the nature’s law. That means, if a person is away from health, i.e. disease, they can be successfully treated with homoeopathy to bring them back to healthy state by a simple principle, “Let likes be cured by likes”. This is usually harmless provided the medicines are prescribed using the homoeopathic principles. This therapeutic science was discovered by Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, German physician about 200 years ago. The homoeopathic medicines are made according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in India and practiced by qualified homoeopathic physicians. According to the World Health Organization, homoeopathy is the second most practiced medical system.

  • How scientific is homoeopathy?

It is a science that works with extremely diluted medicines containing nanocrystals which are formed by a possible method of acoustic cavitation. These were confirmed by using state of art techniques like TEM, SAED, and ICP-AES in a reputed IIT laboratory.

The process of rigorous shaking while producing these nanomedicines increases membrane fluidity and this change of potency due to the shaking has been described by another group of biophysics scientists in Kolkata using Ultraviolet–Visible spectra, Fourier transform infrared radiation spectra and Raman spectra.

To mention another group of researchers in zoology, who had shown the molecular mechanism and the epigenetic modifications using these ultra-high diluted nanomedicines. The unbiased fraternity showed potential prospects in this therapeutic science.

  • Does homoeopathic medicines acts slowly?

    Diseases are classified into

    • Acute
    • Chronic

In cases of acute disease, homoeopathy works as quickly as required, ranging from few minutes to few hours.

In chronic cases, it may take few days to months as in cases of other therapeutic systems.

Therefore, rate of recovery depends on what type of disease are we intend to get treated.

  • Can homoeopathy treat acute complaints?

Any complaints that has lasted for less than 15 days are termed as acute diseases. Homoeopathy can treat acute complaints equally effectively and rapidly as other methods of treatment, provided the selection of medicine is done according to the homoeopathic principles.

  • Can homoeopathy treat epidemic diseases?

History suggests that homoeopathy was always successfully administered in epidemics and pandemics that world had witnessed through the centuries, especially the Spanish flu in 1918.

    Homoeopathy served as

    • A preventive medicine.
    • A curative medicine.
    • Had less death rate compared to the ones who did not take homoeopathic medicines.
    • Patients had limited complications post epidemics.
